MUSIC MAGAZINES ROLLING STONE  The first thing a reader would notice is the artist featured on the front cover as it is the first and only photo on the front cover. The fact that it is only one image on the front cover make the artist the main area of focus for the reader and he take up most of the space on the page. The background for this particular issue is an all white background which further emphasises the artist in my opinion as there is no distractions. His costume of a black shirt can be argued to have two different meanings. It can give off a sophisticated look but could also give him a sexy twist also. His messy haired look gives the artist an effortlessly bad boy feel perhaps to intrigue his fans into buying the magazine and support their favourite artists. COLUMBIA RECORDS Columbia records is an American subsidiary label of Sony Music Entertainment. Record labels are companies who market and promote recorded music and music videos. Their music has changed from blues and jazz to pop and alternative music, making their target audience much younger.
