COLUMBIA AND PARLOPHONE
Columbia records is an American subsidiary label of Sony Music Entertainment. Record labels are companies who market and promote recorded music and music videos. Their music has changed from blues and jazz to pop and alternative music, making their target audience much younger.
It was founded in 1887, Columbia is the oldest surviving brand name in pre-recorded sound. They went on to release records by an array of notable singers, instrumentalists and groups.
PARLOPHONE
Parlophone, on the other hand, is a German-British record label founded in Germany. It became one of the world's famous labels and earned a reputation in the 1920s as a jazz record label. It is among the most famous and prestigious companies in the history of the music industry. Therefore gaining the trust of many jazz music fans. The London-based PLG (Parlophone Label Group) joined Warner Music Group in 2013, bringing to the WMG family such artists as Coldplay, David Guetta, Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue, Damon Albarn, and the world-renowned EMI Classics label.
