MUSIC MAGAZINES ROLLING STONE  The first thing a reader would notice is the artist featured on the front cover as it is the first and only photo on the front cover. The fact that it is only one image on the front cover make the artist the main area of focus for the reader and he take up most of the space on the page. The background for this particular issue is an all white background which further emphasises the artist in my opinion as there is no distractions. His costume of a black shirt can be argued to have two different meanings. It can give off a sophisticated look but could also give him a sexy twist also. His messy haired look gives the artist an effortlessly bad boy feel perhaps to intrigue his fans into buying the magazine and support their favourite artists. The water (which is part of the main focus) looks as if it had been frozen, almost ice-like and it adds to the effect of the photo. The difference between the two photos is the background. The first image has a dark background which diverts the focus from the water to the trees, on the other hand, the second photo has a clearer background which enhances the water.
